Mahindra and Mahindra in talks with Ola, Uber for alliance; shares up

Mahindra and Mahindra shares gained on Tuesday after its executive director and group president, auto and farm sector, Pawan Goenka said CNBC TV18 that the company is in talks with taxi-aggregators such as Ola and Uber for alliance.

At 12.36 pm, Mahindra and Mahindra shares were trading 0.63 per cent up at Rs 1431.00. The scrip opened at Rs 1429 and touched a high and low of Rs 1435.50 and Rs 1425.50, respectively. Sensex was trading 255.66 points up at 28,158.32.

Maruti Suzuki shares surged over 3 per cent on Tuesday after the company launched limited edition model of its popular hatchback – sporty Swift Deca. The petrol variant of the car – Swift Deca Edition VXi- is priced at Rs 5.9 lakh, while the diesel variant – Swift Deca Edition VDi – is price at Rs 6.8 lakh.

At 3.06 pm, Maruti Suzuki shares were trading 2.88 per cent up at Rs 5071.20. The scrip opened at Rs 4950 and touched a high and low of Rs 5104.90 and Rs 4950, respectively. Sensex was trading 415.73 points up at 28,318.39.

New Delhi: Reliance Communications is planning to offer voice calling over LTE (VoLTE) by the end of the year, giving users another option to make voice calls, and is holding talks with major network providers to finalise a player within a fortnight.

People aware of the developments said that RCom, that has inked spectrum trading and sharing agreements with Reliance Jio Infocomm, is in talks with Swedish network major Ericsson, Finnish network provider Nokia, besides Chinese competitors Huawei and ZTE, for executing the contract.

DLF net profit doubles to Rs 261 cr

Aided by the sale of its flagship movie theatre chain DT Cinemas to PVR for Rs 372 crore, real estate firm DLF on Monday reported a twofold jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 261 crore for the quarter ended June.

According to its filings with the BSE, the net profit had stood at Rs 126 crore in the April-June quarter of the past financial year. Income from operations fell 22 per cent to Rs 1,867 crore during the first quarter of FY17 from Rs 2,389 crore in the year-ago period.
