AIFs cannot convert open-ended plans into closed-ended ones: Sebi

Alternative investment funds cannot convert their existing open-ended schemes to closed-ended and vice-versa, markets regulator Sebi said on Friday.

The clarifications have been given as part of an informal guidance sought by Singular India Opportunities Trust (SIOT), which is managed by Singular Capital India Advisors LLP, regarding certain aspects of AIF regulation.

Shares of Bajaj Auto hit a two month high of Rs 3,029 per share, up 2% on the BSE in early morning trade, extending their 9% rally in the past five days after reporting a healthy volume performance during the month of June 2018. The stock was trading at its highest level since May 2, 2018.

Bajaj Auto on Monday, said that its total sales grew 65% YoY at 404,429 units in June 2018, due to strong domestic performance in two-wheeler (2W) and three-wheeler (3W) segment led by new launches and healthy export 3W sales.

BoB raises MCLRs by 5 bps

Bank of Baroda (BoB) followed larger rival Punjab National Bank (PNB) in lending rate hikes, raising its marginal cost of funds-based lending rates (MCLRs) by five basis points (bps) across tenors on Thursday. The revised rates will come into effect on Saturday.

BoB’s one-year MCLR now stands at 8.5%. MCLRs for other tenures range between 8% and 8.35%. “The increase is attributed to higher cost of fund and rising interest rate scenario,” the bank said in a release.
