New Delhi/Mumbai: Tata Sons Ltd is set for a windfall of as much as ₹ 12,603 crore from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd through share buybacks and dividend income in the first half of the financial year, funds that chairman N. Chandrasekaran can use to pare debt in several group companies, a Mint analysis shows.

Tata Sons is expected to get at least ₹ 11,502 crore from the 54.7 million scrips it plans to tender in the TCS share buyback.

Public sector oil companies — HPCL, BPCL and IOC — are planning to share the investments for upcoming product and gas pipelines across the country that will help them reduce the capital expenditure on pipelines and enter newer markets at less than 50% of the original project cost.

The companies have already identified around 5-6 major pipeline projects where they plan to share the infrastructure, senior company officials said.

A dry run of mid-air refuelling of Tejas fighter jet by an Indian Air Force aircraft was successfully conducted, a defence source said Tuesday.

The test conducted involved a dry linkup, meaning no fuel was actually transferred between Indian Air Force Il-78 tanker and Tejas fighter jet through its air-to-air refuelling probe, the source told PTI here.

Two-and-a-half years after an under-construction flyover in north Kolkata came down and killed 26, a portion of a 40-year-old bridge in southwest Kolkata collapsed during the afternoon rush hour on Tuesday.

At least, 19 people were injured and five feared dead. At the time of the incident, at least five cars, a minibus and three two-wheelers were on the bridge, said witnesses.
