NSE to launch crude oil contracts on 1 March, signs pact with ICIS for data

New Delhi: The NSE on Thursday said it would launch brent crude oil contracts on 1 March and has signed a pact with global market information provider ICIS for using its Brent-Forties-Oseberg-Ekofisk data.

The bourse will launch two cash-settled futures products – 100 barrel brent crude oil futures and 10 barrels brent crude oil mini futures, the National Stock Exchange said in a media release.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched its own payment aggregator system, IRCTC iPay, a step which will help promote government's Digital India initiative.

A statement from the railways' catering and ticketing arm said the exclusive digital payment gateway will provide an improved online digital payment convenience and ease of doing business to passengers availing online travel related services through the IRCTC website.

Though ONGC is digging appraisal wells at the Deen Dayal West (DDW) field it acquired from Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), it is still to submit the field development plan (FDP) and has sought time till December 2019 from the empowered committee of secretaries (ECS). ONGC was initially supposed to submit the FDP by February 2018.

According to a source, while the ECS will allow the time to ONGC, given huge investments are involved, it will have to pay a penalty. ECS comprises secretaries of finance, petroleum and law.

A notification inviting expressions of interest (EoIs) from asset reconstruction companies (ARCs) for 49 bad-loan accounts worth Rs 5,928 crore said the EoIs, with indicative prices, must be filed by March 7.
