To celebrate its fifth year anniversary on the Indian roads, Audi India has slashed the price of A3 Sedan by Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The Audi A3 Sedan is now available in India at a starting price of Rs 28,99,000.

Audi India is hoping to have an edge with this new pricepoint over rivals like the Mercedez-Benz, Toyota, etc in the luxury car segment.

Shares of Apollo Hospitals Enterprises surged 9 per cent to Rs 1,351 in intra-day trade on Monday, rallying 12 per cent in past two trading days on the BSE, after the company reported a more-than-doubled consolidated net profit at Rs 84.4 crore in March quarter (Q4FY19). The Chennai-based hospital chain had posted a profit of Rs 23.8 crore in the year-ago quarter.

The rupee on Monday opened 20 paise higher at 69.50 against the US dollar as crude oil prices slipped to multi-month lows on global recession fears. The domestic unit on Friday snapped its three-session losing streak to settle 17 paise higher at 69.70.

On Friday, data showed India’s economy grew at a slowest pace in more than four years at 5.8 per cent in the last quarter thereby raising prospects of a rate cut in the RBI scheduled this week. For the fiscal year that ended March 31st showed the economy grew at 6.8 per cent compared to estimates of 7 per cent.

New Delhi: The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Saturday reported a 22 per cent decline in sales at 1,34,641 units in May.

The company had sold 1,72,512 units in May 2018, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. Domestic sales declined by 23.1 per cent to 1,25,552 units as against 1,63,200 units in the year ago month, it added.

NASA plans to send equipment to Moon from 2020, first time since 1970s

Washington: For the first time since the 1970s, the United States is planning to send equipment to the surface of the Moon in 2020 and 2021, in anticipation of a crewed lunar mission in 2024, NASA has said.

The US space agency has chosen American firms Astrobotic, Intuitive Machines and Orbit Beyond to send instruments and other scientific equipment to the Moon as part of the Artemis program.

The country’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) has revised interest rates on its recurring deposits (RDs) with effect from 9 May 2019, according to the bank’s website. SBI RD interest rates vary between 6.4%-7% for general public and an additional interest rate hike of 0.50 percentage points for senior citizens. SBI recurring deposits has terms ranging from 12 months to 120 months.

Sebi nod for L&T’s Mindtree open offer

Engineering giant Larsen and Toubro (L&T) is believed to have received the approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to go ahead with the open offer to acquire shares in IT firm Mindtree.

The open offer is likely to start after June 10. L&T currently holds a 28.87% stake in the IT firm which it acquired partly from Cafe Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha as well as from the open market.
