Yes Bank indicated to the stock exchanges on Thursday that it has acquired shares of Eveready Industries amounting to 9.47% of the post-issue paid-up share capital after having invoked its pledged shares.

Yes Bank said it invoked the shares of Eveready Industries India following the default/breach of terms of credit facilities sanctioned by the bank to Mcleod Russel India, which is a group company of BM Khaitan Group.

State-owned Coal India Ltd (CIL) reported a near flat growth in production during the April-June quarter (Q1) this fiscal, although the top management was in favour of keeping a stiffer target despite the muted growth. The company reported a 0.1% growth in production to 136.96 million tonne (MT) in Q1, against 136.85 MT in the year-ago period.

ArcelorMittal’s `42,000-crore resolution plan for Essar Steel was on Thursday approved by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), but lenders are staring at a `20,000-crore hit after the appellate tribunal said operational creditors be given 60.7% of their admitted claims.

The lenders are expected to challenge the decision on the distribution of funds in the Supreme Court.
