Rejecting any mediation by US President Donald Trump on Kashmir, India on Friday made it clear to America that any discussion on the issue, if at all warranted, will only be with Pakistan and only bilaterally.

The assertion by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar came hours after President Trump said he would “certainly intervene” on the Kashmir issue if New Delhi and Islamabad wanted him to.

Mumbai: State Bank of India (SBI) was back in the black on Friday as it reported a net profit of Rs 2,312 crore for the April to June quarter of 2019-20 (Q1 FY20) due to healthy growth in advances and stable asset quality.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has revised interest rates on fixed deposits on select maturities with effect from 2 August 2019. PNB has lowered the interest rates by up to 50 basis points on maturity periods such as 7-14 days, 15-29 days, 30-45 days, 46-90 days and 91-179 days. On deposits maturing in 7-45 days, PNB is offering an interest rate of 5% to the general public and 5.5% to senior citizens on fixed deposits of up to ₹2 crore.

Loss-making telecom PSUs Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and MTNL have failed to clear salaries of their 1.98 lakh employees for July in time, a union leader said on Thursday.
