Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday raked up yet another controversy as he referred slain terrorist and 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden as a shaheed (martyr) while addressing the National Assembly.

Bin Laden was killed by US Navy Seals in Pakistan's Abbottabad in May, 2011.

Shares of General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC RE) surged as much as 8.5 per cent to Rs 165.75 on the BSE on Thursday after the company's net profit jumped 98 per cent to Rs 1,197 crore in Q4FY20 compared to 603 crore in the same period a year ago due to lower tax provisions.

The reinsurer’s pre-tax profit for the March quarter stood at Rs 1,101 crore compared to Rs 1,194 crore in Q4FY19.

State-run GAIL (India) has posted 62 per cent increase in its consolidated profit before tax (PBT) in Q4 of 2019-20 (FY20) ended March to Rs 3,598.7 crore, compared to Rs 2,226.8 crore during the same period last year.

The consolidated revenue for the period under review has seen a decline by 6 per cent, from Rs 19,078.3 crore during the January-March quarter of 2018-19 (FY19) to Rs 17,938 crore in the fourth quarter of FY20.
