Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offers you an insurance cover of up to ₹10 lakh at a near-zero premium of 49 paise. Passengers have an option of opting the 'Travel Insurance' while booking train tickets through IRCTC website. If you exercise the option while booking your train, the travel insurance will be applicable for all passengers booked under one PNR (Passenger Name Record).

E-tickets bought through IRCTC will get costlier as the Indian Railways has decided to restore service charges from September 1, according to an order.

The IRCTC will levy a service charge of Rs 15 per ticket for non-AC classes and Rs 30 for AC classes, including first class, according to the August 30 order issued by IRCTC.

IRCTC launches its own payment aggregator system called IRCTC iPay

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched its own payment aggregator system, IRCTC iPay, a step which will help promote government's Digital India initiative.

A statement from the railways' catering and ticketing arm said the exclusive digital payment gateway will provide an improved online digital payment convenience and ease of doing business to passengers availing online travel related services through the IRCTC website.

A Delhi court on Monday asked the CBI and the ED to provide documents to the accused in IRCTC scam cases on February 14 and 25 respectively.

Special Judge Arun Bhardwaj fixed February 14 as the date for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to provide the documents to the accused and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will have to submit them on February 25 at 2 pm.
