JT Special Vehicles (JTSV), a 50:50 joint venture between Tata Motors and Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives, on Friday launched JTP range of performance vehicles – the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP. Jayem Automotives is an independent automotive R & D company involved in design, development, testing and manufacturing of a wide range of automotive components, systems and prototypes.

Tata Sons has increased its stake in Tata Motors at a time when its market capitalisation is eroding and valuations dipping amid uncertainties facing Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), its UK subsidiary.

At the end of the quarter ended September, the Tata Group holding company increased its stake in the flagship firm to 34.2 per cent from 33.3 per cent in June, according to the latest shareholding data shared by the company.

Mumbai: Tata Motors Ltd is working on plans to revamp its entire dealership network as it seeks to bolster attempts to stage a turnaround in its passenger vehicle business in India, said a senior company executive.

The nationwide revamp will commence next year because the Mumbai-based auto maker feels its current showrooms are not equipped enough to handle its latest range of cars and sport-utility vehicles (SUVs) including those set to be launched in the future.

NEW DELHI: Tata Motors is banking on strong rural buying to accelerate sales, as the passenger vehicle industry witnesses softening demand in major cities. The maker of the Tiago small car organised 500-600 rural sales camps in the past six months, which it said led to incremental sales of more than 10,000 units. It now plans to organise more such sales camps.

Tata Motors Wednesday launched an updated version of its compact sedan Tigor, priced between Rs 520,000 and Rs 738,000 (ex-showroom).

The petrol variants of the model are priced between Rs 520,000 and Rs 665,000, while the diesel trims are tagged between Rs 609,000 and Rs 738,000.

Shares of Tata Motors hit a six-year low of Rs 185 per share, down 13% on the BSE in intra-day trade on Tuesday, after the company-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Monday, reported a 12.3% year on year (YoY) decline in global sales at 57,114 units in September, hit by lower demand in China. The stock was trading at its lowest level since July 26, 2012, on the BSE.

Tata Motors Monday launched a new premium variant of its lifestyle sports utility vehicle (SUV) Hexa with 16 new features, priced at Rs 1.527 million (ex-showroom New Delhi).

The Hexa XM+ also been made available with an electric sunroof to enhance, which comes with a two years warranty, it said.

JLR CEO Ralf Speth, who was speaking at the Zero Emission Vehicle Summit in Birmingham, on Tuesday said that fears of a so-called "no-deal" Brexit and lack of clarity over Britain's post-Brexit plans threatens the UK-based luxury carmaker's entire operational set up.
