The country's second largest IT services firm Infosys on Wednesday said it has completed the acquisition of US-based WONGDOODY.

In April, Infosys had said it will acquire WongDoody Holding Company, a US-based digital creative and consumer insights agency, for a total consideration of up to $75 million.

India’s second-largest information technology company, Infosys, is relying more on experienced hands than fresh graduates even though it weighs to its costs, according to the company’s latest annual report. This is happening when the sector is witnessing slower growth with increasing pressure on profit margins.

Last year, Infosys told shareholders that activist shareholders were one of the challenges, as the company said: “Actions of activist shareholders may adversely affect our ability to execute our strategic priorities, and could impact the trading value of our securities.”

BENGALURU: Infosys has created a blockchain-based documenttracking system for trade finance and is implementing the solution with seven private banks in the country —Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RBL Bank, South Indian Bank and Yes Bank.

BENGALURU: Infosys has begun looking for a technology services industry expert to replace Ravi Venkatesan as independent director on the company’s board, a person with direct knowledge of the plan told ET.

The software services exporter will involve an external agency to identify the right person, the source said, adding that the company would also “consider recommendations from existing board members as well from outside”.

BENGALURU: Ravi Venkatesan, the former Infosys cochairman, is discussing a potential offer to join US ecommerce giant Amazon in its India business in a senior role, said two sources familiar with the matter. Venkatesan, who has earlier also served as the head of Microsoft India, could join as either a board member, chairman or a senior advisor at Amazon India, the sources said.

IT giant Infosys on Friday said that Ravi Venkatesan has resigned as a director of the company. “Champion for driving social impact”, Ravi Venkatesan has been an independent director since 2011 and served briefly as co-Chairman before Nandan Nilekani became the chairman in August 2017.

India's second largest software services company Infosys today said its CEO Salil Parekh will receive an annual performance equity grant worth Rs 13 crore.

Parekh had joined the Bengaluru-based company in January this year after a protracted stand-off ensued between Infosys founders led by NR Narayana Murthy and the previous management over issues of corporate governance and compensation to former executives.

Infosys has said it its largest campus outside of India is going to be in Indianapolis, US. The company is already aggressively expanding its capacity in US while stepping up hiring to localise the workforce.

The proposed campus, according to some local media reports, is expected to come up on around 125 acres, which the company will acquire from airport authorities, and would house as many as 3,000 employees. This, however, could not be independently verified.

Even as the January – March 2018 (Q4FY18) results failed to enthuse investors, most analysts have given a thumbs-up to the three-year road-map laid out by Infosys to accelerate growth in the digital segment.

Infosys, which detailed its strategy to analysts in post market hours on Monday, also reiterated its capital allocation policy of returning up to 70 per cent of free cash flow (FCF) with periodic review of return cash balances.
