NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki India Wednesday launched two CNG variants of its newly launched hatchback WagonR priced at ₹4.84 lakh and ₹4.89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The factory fitted WagonR S-CNG will be available in Lxi and Lxi(O) variants powered by 1 litre engine and priced at ₹4.84 lakh and ₹4.89 lakh, respectively, the company said in a statement.

Continuing the muted demand trend, sales of passenger vehicles in February for market leader Maruti Suzuki grew by marginal 0.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) at 1,36,912 units.

While passenger vehicles sales in the April-June quarter had clocked a 20% y-o-y growth, the trend has reversed since then. Post the September quarter results, Maruti Suzuki chairman RC Bhargava had pointed out that the festive season was a dull one.

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Monday said it has expanded its pre-owned sales network to 200 outlets in 132 cities across the country.

The company had relaunched upgraded True Value network with new brand and retail identity 19 months ago.

MSIL’s Q3FY19 Ebitda at Rs19.3bn was significantly below our (-25%) and consensus (-27%) estimate. Ebitda margins at 9.8% (Nom 13%, Consensus 13.5%) was impacted by higher commodity (100bp), discounts (100 bp), adverse forex (50 bp), inventory adjustment (30 bp), one-time in staff (20 bp) and operating de-leverage. Management mentioned that weaker than expected sales resulted in high discounts to clear off inventory and led to higher fixed costs.

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Friday reported a marginal increase in its sales at 1,51,721 units in January.

The company had sold 1,51,351 units in January last year, Maruti Suzuki India said in a statement.

With consumer sentiment expected to remain subdued, analysts have trimmed earnings estimates of Maruti Suzuki for the next couple of years.

“We cut our MSIL earnings estimates by 5% over FY20-21 mainly driven by cut in our Ebitda margin forecast, factoring in higher discounts than earlier but maintaining our volume estimates,” analysts at Kotak Institutional Equities said.

Shares of three automobile companies – Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Hero MotoCorp and Maruti Suzuki India – along with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone and nine stocks from the Nifty 50 index Cipla, Coal India, Grasim Industries, JSW Steel and Tata Steel hit their respective 52-week lows on Monday.

Reliance Capital, Reliance Home Finance and Reliance Infrastructure from Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group were among 70 stocks from the Nifty 500 index that touched 52-week lows.

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Tuesday said it has commenced bookings for an updated version of its premium hatchback Baleno.

The new Baleno can be booked with an initial payment of Rs 11,000, MSI said in a statement.
