Dana Petroleum is an oil and natural gas exploration and production company with operations in the North Sea, as well as Australia, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritania, and Senegal. Dana Petroleum plc has expanded its production activities in the North Sea, where Dana Petroleum plc has 16 producing fields. The company's growth strategy is to balance low-risk production from the UK North Sea with more aggressive high-risk international exploration and production (primarily in Egypt). At the end of 2007 Dana reported proved and probable reserves of 165.8 million barrels of oil equivalent. That year Dana Petroleum plc acquired Devon Energy's oil and gas business in Egypt for $375 million. In 2008 Dana was operating four producing fields in Egypt.
