OEwaves, Inc. transforms novel microwave photonic technologies from concept to the marketplace enabling new capabilities in communications, radar, and test and measurement systems. The company’s core technologies include the opto-electronic oscillator (OEO), and whispering gallery mode (WGM) optical resonators. OEwaves has also developed a unique cross-correlation phase noise measurement system for characterization of the phase noise of high performance microwave oscillators operating at 1-40 GHz.

OEwaves company has exclusive rights to over 30 patents and pending patents in these and related areas. The phase noise performance of the OEO surpasses that of conventional microwave oscillators by at least three orders of magnitude, creating a unique opportunity to impact a wide range of advanced civilian and military radar, communications systems, and test measurement applications. The unique technology of WGM optical resonators with crystalline material enables ultra-high quality factor (Q) microwave and optical filters, and novel photonic microwave receiver architectures. These technologies, individually and in combination, will enable new architectures that provide a significant reduction in size, mass, and power (SWAP) requirements of high performance systems.
