The Bank of Thailand (BOT) serves as the central bank for the country. Tracing its roots back to 1939, BOT serves in a variety of central banking functions, including promoting monetary stability and policies, supervising financial institutions, providing banking facilities to the government and financial organizations, managing national reserves, and printing and issuing banknotes. It was established in 1948 under a US Navy ordinance for economic development in Okinawa while it was under US control, which ended in 1972.

Doing business as BankWest, Bank of Western Australia provides mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, savings, and deposit products. It is not merely active in Western Australia, however BankWest has established distribution channels in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney; these make up about a half of total lending. BankWest opened for business in 1895 as the Agricultural Bank of Western Australia; it was acquired by Bank of Scotland (the BOS in HBOS) in 1995. In late 2008 Commonwealth Bank of Australia acquired BankWest from struggling HBOS, itself acquired by British bank Lloyds shortly after.

Bank Pembangunan Malaysia, the government-owned bank's primary mandate is to provide financing for infrastructure, maritime, and high-tech projects. Infrastructure loans account for about 85% of the bank's lending activity. Former subsidiary SME Bank, which focuses on lending and other financial services for small and medium-sized enterprises, was separated from Bank Pembangunan in 2008. The demerger allows Bank Pembangunan to focus on core services. Its remaining subsidiary Global Maritime Ventures (GMV) provides venture capital for the maritime industry. Bank Pembangunan, which was founded in 1974, offers conventional and Islamic financing services.
