TeamHealth was founded in 1979 to provide emergency department administrative and staffing services to two hospital clients that we proudly continue to serve today. After 30 years of geographic and service line expansion, TeamHealth is one of the nation's largest providers of hospital-based clinical outsourcing. Although we are a national organization, our operating philosophy is essentially the same as when we started 30 years ago. Telecare was founded in 1965 by Art Gladman, a psychiatrist, Lida Hahn, a psychiatric nurse and Morton Bakar, a businessman -- three individuals who were committed to a belief in the rehabilitation potential of people with serious mental illness. The Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York is a non-profit social service organization, is dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with epilepsy and their families. Our program services are available to residents of New York City and Westchester County. Services are made possible through contractual agreements with New York City, New York State and Westchester County. All informational services are provided free of charge. New York City's Floating Hospital has its origins in a ferryboat ride for newsboys organized by The New York Times in 1866. The newspaper appealed to the public to provide funds for excursions each summer to help the young ragamuffins escape the sweltering streets for a few hours. Management of the program was turned over to a charity, St. John's Guild, in 1873, and the group soon began to put doctors on the ferryboats to provide health services for the newsboys and other city children. The organization provided ship-based until 2001, when it could no longer afford dock space. Today The Floating Hospital provides health care services to indigent New Yorkers via a network of clinics located throughout the city.
