Part of the HCA family, the system operates about a dozen hospitals in central, northern, and southwestern Virginia. Its hospitals include Alleghany Regional Hospital, CJW Medical Center (which includes the Levinson Heart Hospital), Henrico Doctors' Hospital (and its Retreat Hospital campus), John Randolph Medical Center, and Montgomery Regional Hospital. The medical system also operates general health clinics, imaging centers, and surgery centers for outpatient procedures.

Its hospitals include The Medical Center of Aurora, North Suburban Medical Center, Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center, Rose Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center, Sky Ridge Medical Center, and Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital.
