CaroMont Health is an independent not-for-profit health care system serving residents of Gastonia, a community just west of Charlotte in North Carolina's Piedmont region. Anchoring CaroMont Health is Gaston Memorial Hospital, a 435-bed medical and surgical facility that features a birthing center, an inpatient psychiatric ward, and specialized facilities for heart disease, cancer, sleep disorders, diabetes, and wound care. Other operations include a nearly 100-bed nursing home, an outpatient surgery center, and about 30 primary and specialty medical practices.
