Frank J. Zamboni Company manufactures ice resurfacers familiar to hockey players, ice skaters, and Olympic athletes around the world. A subsidiary of Fujitec Co., Ltd., Fujitec America, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, markets, installs, maintains, and modernizes elevators, escalators, moving walks, vertical parking equipment, and new transportation systems. Projects include the installation of transit escalators in the subway systems of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, DC. Fujitec America company operates over 10 manufacturing facilities, four R&D centers, and about 50 sales and service offices throughout the world.

Founded in 1875 to mine and smelt copper, Furukawa is a major manufacturer of construction and industrial machinery (cranes, drills, rock crushers) and a leading miner and smelter (copper, gold, silver). Furukawa also makes electronic materials, including high-purity gallium arsenate used in cell phones (replacing silicon as the material of choice by manufacturers), and chemicals that include cuprous oxide (used in paint for ships) and sulfuric acid (primarily sold to titanium dioxide manufacturers). Other operations include fuels (gasoline, diesel, kerosene), real estate, and trucking services. Most of Furukawa's sales come from Japan.
