Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc.

The Kansas City Chiefs Football Club was founded by oilman and sports impresario Lamar Hunt as the Dallas Texans in 1959, a charter member of the American Football League. (Hunt also helped start the AFL and served as its first president.) The franchise moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1963 and was renamed the Chiefs. After winning three league titles and one Super Bowl, the franchise joined the National Football League when the rival associations merged in 1970. The Chiefs play host at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium. Hunt's family, led by his son, Clark Hunt, continues to own the football franchise.
