Its roster has included such Hall of Fame players as Larry Csonka, Bob Griese, and Dan Marino. The franchise was founded in 1965 by lawyer Joe Robbie as a member of the American Football Legaue. It joined the NFL ranks when the two leagues merged in 1970. Billionaire Stephen Ross acquired control of the team from Wayne Huizenga in 2009.
