Taseko Mines Limited

aseko Mines Limited (TSX: TKO, NYSE AMEX: TGB) is a British Columbia based mining company. Its main assets are the 75% owned Gibraltar copper-molybdenum mine, the Prosperity gold-copper project, the Harmony gold project and the early stage Aley niobium project. The Gibraltar copper-molybdenum mine, located in south-central British Columbia, is a 46,000 ton per day operation with a life of mine average annual production of 100 million pounds of copper and 1.1 million pounds of molybdenum. The mine is undergoing an expansion and modernization project which will increase annual copper production capacity to 115 million pounds by 2011. The current mine life is 26 years and there are additional resources that could significantly extend the mine life.

Prosperity is one of Canada's largest undeveloped gold-copper deposits. Prior to 2001, the Company had carried out extensive exploration, engineering, mine planning, environmental and socio-economic studies on Prosperity, which hosts a large porphyry gold-copper deposit amenable to large scale open pit mining. After reinitiating work on Prosperity in 2005, the Company focused on completing the feasibility study and advancing the environmental assessment. The feasibility study was completed in late 2007 and confirmed robust economics. The project received it British Columbia Provincial Environmental Assessment Certificate in January 2010. The federal panel reviewing the project just completed six weeks of public hearings and has now committed to complete its final report in early July. Final approval from the federal government is expected in September 2010. Taseko also owns the Harmony gold project, located on the west coast of BC, and the Aley niobium project, in northern BC, which provide longer-term opportunities for additional development.
