Texas A&M Research Foundation is an independent non-profit service organization. Our focus is to facilitate research and development within The Texas A&M University System and selected other entities by providing highly valued administrative services and resource support at the most reasonable cost. The JoAnn Treat Award is given, in alternate years, to (a) all researchers at any of The Texas A&M University System Members who have reached the age of 41 or older by December 31, of the year of the award, or (b) all researchers who have not reached the age of 41 by December 31, of the year of the award.

The Texas Hospital Association (THA) is like life support to a vital group of institutions. The not-for-profit organization supports more than 460 hospitals and health systems in Texas primarily through lobbying -- on both state and federal levels. THA also offers it members education and training, and through affiliations with other providers, THA offers insurance, consulting, and software. The association publishes the bi-monthly Texas Hospitals, which updates members on issues and trends in the hospital industry; Rural Route, a bi-monthly for rural and small hospitals; and HOSPAC Notes on the group's Political Action Committee's activities. THA was founded in 1930 by a group of hospital administrators.

The Texas Medical Association was organized by 35 physicians in 1853 to serve the people of Texas in matters of medical care, prevention and cure of disease, and the improvement of public health. Today, with more than 43,000 physician and medical student members, TMA's vision is still to "improve the health of all Texans." TMA supports Texas physicians by providing distinctive solutions to the challenges they encounter in the care of patients. The medical society, which is the largest in the nation, has grown from 35 physicians in 1853 to more than 43,000 doctors and medical students. Members are eligible to receive benefits, such as financial and investment planning, loans, and subscription services. The TMA also publishes articles, newsletters, and a magazine about hot topics in the medical field. Its political arm, the Texas Medical Association Political Action Committee (TEXPAC), acts as an advocate for its members' interests on issues that arise in the state and national legislature.
