Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), sponsored by the Government of India is India’s largest Electronics and IT trade facilitation organization. Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) is a nodal agency constituted under “The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India” to promote the exports of all handloom products like fabrics, home furnishings, carpets, floor coverings, etc. HEPC was constituted in the year 1965 with 96 members and its present membership is around 1400 spread all over the country. The Handloom industry mainly exports fabrics, bed linen, table linen, toilet and kitchen linen, towels, curtains, cushions and pads, tapestries and upholstery’s, carpets and floor coverings, etc. The basic objective of HEPC is to provide all support and guidance to the Indian Handloom exporters and International buyers for trade promotion and International marketing. HEPC has its head office at Chennai and regional office at New Delhi.HEPC is incorporated as a not for profit company under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 and governed by the Memorandum and Articles of Association framed by the Council. It is administered by an Executive Committee consisting of elected representatives from the export trade, ex-officio members and nominated Government officials.

The Plastics Export Promotion Council sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce, Government of India represents the exporting community of the Indian Plastics industry. The export promotion strategies evolved since 1955, the year when PLEXCONCIL was born, have fetched rich dividends, which is exhibited in the form of high export growth rates.

Shellac Export Promotion Council (Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India) is a premier Export Promotion Council which handles export of Lac in various forms like Shellac, both Hand Made and Machine Made, Dewaxed Shellac, Seedlac, Aleuritic Acid, Bleached Lac and Shellac Wax.

The Sports Goods Export Promotion council established in July 1958, has in its 43 years of existence steered the Indian Sports Industry, to a respectable status. The Sports Goods Export Promotion Council has also been successful in imparting a sense of urgency among Indian Sporting Community to treat exports as a special responsibility. Ever-expanding communities of exporters of sports goods today look to the council for guidance and assistance to resolve their constraints of production and exports.

The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), set up in 1954, is one of the oldest Export Promotion Councils in India.The Council has played a transforming role over the years, inculcating export culture and promoting exports of Indian man-made fibre and textiles. Exports of these items, which were negligible in the 1960s, have grown substantially to touch US$6.16 billion during 2013-14. India exports to nearly 140 countries at present. The Council envisages exports to the tune of Rs. 55,000 crores (US$ 9 billion) by the end of the 12th Five Year Plan (2016-17). The MMF textiles industry contributes 17% of the total Indian textile exports and this share is growing. India is the sixth largest exporter of MMF textiles in the world.
