Reshmi finished her schooling from Good Shepherd convent,chennai.

Reshmi Menon was pursuing Visual Communication at Women's Christian College, Chennai, a course she enrolled for because she "loved the media".

Reshmi accompanied her friend to the auditions for the Prakash Raj production, Inidhu Inidhu (2010), when she herself got the opportunity to essay a lead role in it.

After Inidhu Inidhu, Reshmi had shot for an independent film titled Om Obama directed by Janaki Vishwanathan.

At the time of 2011, she had also her second release and it was named asTheneer Viduthi.

Her next release, the comedy-thriller Burma, came three years after Theneer Viduthi. Burma received generally favorable reviews and her performance was also well received, although critics felt that her role was insubstantial.

Reshmi upcoming films include the fantasy thriller Urumeen, Kirumi, a "drama with elements of a psychological thriller", Natpathigaram 79, a tale on friendship directed by Ravichandran.

Reshmi has been marked as one of those several of the newcomers who have get done with their acting debuts in Inidhu Inidhu.

Menon got engaged with Bobby Simha in November 2015, and married him in April 2016.
