Ashok Buildcon surges as arm emerges lowest bidder for NHAI project

Ashok Buildcon has moved higher to its 52-week high of Rs 199.65, up 7% on BSE in intra-day trade, after the company said its subsidiary - Ashoka Concessions (ACL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for bid submitted to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
ACL had submitted its bid to NHAI for the project viz. request for proposal for six laning of from Ranastalam to Anandpuram (Visakhapatnam) (from km 634.000 to km 681.000) section of NH-5 (New NH- 16) in the state of Andhra Pradesh under NHDP Phase - V (Package II) on Hybrid Annuity Mode Project.
“ACL emerged as “the Lowest Bidder” at the financial bid opening meeting. The bid project cost quoted by ACL is Rs 1,187.10 crore,” Ashok Buildcon, the company engaged in construction of roads & highways said in a release.
At 1125 am; the stock was up 6% at Rs 197 as compared to 0.46% rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. A combined 426,105 shares changed hands on the counter on BSE and NSE so far.

Jamie Dimon, the chief executive of US banking giant JPMorgan Chase, has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and berated the “liberal press” for criticising him.
Dimon, in a webinar hosted by The Economic Club of New York, praised Modi's government for alleviating poverty and implementing reforms. “Modi has done an unbelievable job in India. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday released a compiled master direction raising the minimum capital requirement for asset reconstruction companies (ARCs) to begin securitization to Rs 300 crore from Rs 100 crore as on October 11, 2022.
The central bank said that the regulation would be effective from April 24, 2024. ARCs, as on October 11, 2022, have been provided a glide path to achieve the minimum required Net Owned Fund (NOF) of Rs 300 crore.

Reliance Jio has become the world's largest mobile operator in data traffic consumption, surpassing China Mobile. According to global analytics firm Tefficient, the Indian telecom operator's total traffic reached 40.9 exabytes in the January-March quarter, compared to China Mobile's 38.
Jio also has the second-largest 5G subscriber base globally, with 108 million users. More than 28 per cent of its total wireless data traffic is now consumed by 5G users, said the company in an analyst presentation.

Bharti Airtel is not in talks to buy UK-based Vodafone Group's 21.05 per cent stake in Indus Towers, the Indian telecom operator said on Wednesday, after a newspaper reported that it was eyeing the stake.
The Economic Times said in a report that if the deal went through, Vodafone Group could infuse some of the proceeds into Vodafone Idea, its cash-strapped Indian venture with Aditya Birla Group.
