Five killed, one injured as Indian Air Force chopper crashes in Arunachal Pradesh

At least five personnel were killed and one was injured after the Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper Mi-17 V5 crashed near Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday Morning.

The incident took place near Tawang at around 6:00 am during a training sortie. The Mi-17 V5 helicopter was on an Air Maintenance mission.

"A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident," the official said.

Rescue teams reached the crash site in Tawang near the Indo-China border and admitted the injured personnel to a local hospital

In July, the IAF chopper that was on a rescue mission had crashed in Arunachal, and the bodies of two crew members were recovered later.
