The United Arab Emirates (UAE) made history on Tuesday after its first-ever interplanetary Hope Probe mission successfully entered orbit around Mars following a seven-month journey.
The country's first mission to the red planet which travelled over 494 million kilometres entered the orbit in its very first attempt. The Emirates Mars Mission, knows as the Hope Probe, sent a signal back to earth to confirm the success.

In an attempt to contain misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, social media giant Facebook has announced that it will remove false claims from its own platform and Instagram about coronavirus and its vaccines.
In a statement released on Monday, the company said that the move is taken after consultations with leading health organisations, including the WHO.

A team of scientists sent by the World Health Organisation (WHO) probing the emergence of COVID-19 in China's Wuhan are wrapping up a month-long investigation and have found “important clues” about a Wuhan seafood market’s role in the outbreak.
The investigators stated that they have come across significant findings, which they have denied to reveal, until the official release. The objective of the entire mission was to understand how the virus transmitted from animals to humans.

A police constable was beaten to death and a sub-inspector was badly injured after being allegedly attacked by goons in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj, where they had gone to raid an illegal liquor factory in the area. The deceased constable has been identified as Devendra while the SI has been identified as Ashok Kumar.
According to CP Singh, District Magistrate, Kasganj, the sub-inspector and the constable had gone in search of criminals in Nagla Dhimar village in Sidhpura police station area in Kasganj on Tuesday, where they were attacked.

Media tycoon Kalanithi Maran-owned Sun TV is planning to invest around Rs 500 crore in its digital initiative Sun Nxt, to strengthen its regional channels and acquire movies.
Of the proposed amount, some Rs 250 crore will be spent on Sun NXT, while sizeable investments will go to Bengali and Marathi channels, which it sees as larger markets than Malayalam.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment is likely to complete the process to finalise the rules for four new labour codes soon. The proposed labour codes could provide companies with the flexibility of four working days in a week, even as the working hours limit of 48 hours for a week will remain sacrosanct, Labour and Employment Secretary Apurva Chandra said on Monday.
Chandra on Monday said that the government is considering the objections raised by the trade unions to 12-hour daily work shift and three days of paid leaves.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the arrest of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and six senior journalists in connection with FIR's registered against them for allegedly sharing unconfirmed news on the death of a protester after violence broke out in Delhi on Republic Day during the tractor rally.
The apex court's order comes as a big relief for Tharoor and others who were booked by the Noida police for sedition, among other charges.

As India-China tensions continue despite the efforts being made to resolve the border issue, the government has said that as many as 80 Chinese companies are actively doing business in the country.
Replying to a question in Rajya Sabha regarding the restrictions on Chinese firms from doing business in the country, Minister of State (MoS) for Finance Anurag Thakur said that 92 Chinese companies are registered in India at present out of which, 80 companies are having the status of 'active' at present.
