Senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily has slammed the AIADMK-led government over unemployment in the state and claimed that the DMK-Congress alliance will emerge victorious in Assembly elections.

Every year, after finishing the degree, 5 lakh graduates are coming out. They are all against AIADMK due to no job creation. Unemployment is at an all-time high in Tamil Nadu, he said.

Markets regulator Sebi on Wednesday ordered attachment of bank accounts as well as share and mut­ual fund holdings of Rana Kapoor (pictured), former MD and CEO of YES Bank, to recover dues of over Rs 1 crore. The decision has been taken after Kapoor failed to pay the fine imposed on him.

Sebi, in September 2020, had levied a fine of Rs 1 crore on Kapoor for not making disclosures regarding a transaction of Morgan Credit, which was an unlisted promoter entity of Yes Bank.

New Delhi: In wake of the fall in the price of crude oil in the international market, oil marketing companies on Thursday slashed petrol and diesel prices for the second consecutive day. Petrol prices in Delhi have come down by 21 paise and diesel by 20 paise. After this, the price of petrol in Delhi has reached Rs 90.78 per litre and the price of diesel has become Rs 81.1 per litre.

Petrol and diesel prices received a cut for the second day in a row. In the last two days, petrol in Delhi has become cheaper by 39 paise and diesel by 37 paise.

COVID-19: India's single-day surge crosses 53,000, 251 deaths reported in last 24 hours

India's single-day COVID-19 tally on Thursday crossed 50,000 for the first time this year with 53,476 new infections reported in the last 24 hours.

A total of 26,490 recoveries and 251 deaths were reported, as per the data released by the Union Health Ministry.

With this, the total cases in the country mounted to 1,17,87,534 including 3,95,192 active cases and 1,12,31,650 recoveries. The death toll has gone up to 1,60,692.
