Shares of Infosys hit a fresh record high of Rs 1,425 after rising nearly 3 per cent on the BSE in intra-day trade on Monday, which propelled the company's market capitalisation (market-cap) beyond Rs 6 trillion mark. The stock surpassed its previous high of Rs 1,406.25, touched on March 16, 2021.

At 10:01 am, Infosys was trading 2 per cent higher at Rs 1,411.80, with a market-cap of Rs 6.01 trillion, the BSE data shows. In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 2 per cent or 1,030 points at 48,999. In the past two months, Infosys has outperformed the market by surging 12 per cent, against 3 per cent decline in the benchmark index.

Gautam Adani-led Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) today announced acquisition of the residual 25 per cent stake in Adani Krishnapatnam Port Ltd, (Krishnapatnam Port) for Rs 2,800 cr.

This will result in APSEZ increasing its stake from 75 per cent to 100 per cent in Krishnapatnam Port, the company informed in a release.

BENGALURU (Reuters) - India's Cadila Healthcare Ltd has sought approval from local regulators to use a Hepatitis C drug as a treatment for COVID-19 following promising interim results from a late-stage trial, the drugmaker said on Monday.

A single dose of the Hepatitis C drug when taken early could help COVID-19 patients recover faster and avoid complications seen in the advanced stages of the disease, Cadila said in a statement to stock exchanges.

Hitting a grim milestone, India broke all its previous records for the highest single-day surge in COVID-19 cases and reported over 1 lakh infections in the past 24 hours.

As many as 1,03,794 new COVID-19 cases were reported, which is the highest in the country since the pandemic began. Prior to this, the highest single-day spike was recorded on September 16, 2020, at 97,984 cases in a day.
