Information technology (IT) services and consulting firm Accenture beat Street expectations to clock a revenue of $16.16 billion in the quarter ended May 2022 (Q3). The number, buoyed by cloud and digital transformation, was an increase of 22 per cent over the $13.26 billion reported for the same quarter a year earlier. The double-digit growth rate augurs well for the Indian IT services industry.

Accenture follows a September-August financial year. Third quarter represented period from March-May 2022.

Realty major Macrotech Developers Ltd on Thursday announced its entry in the Bengaluru market and has formed a joint venture to develop its first housing project with an estimated sales bookings value of Rs 1,200 crore.

In a regulatory filing, Macrotech Developers said it will acquire 100 per cent equity of G Corp Homes to make foray into the Bengaluru market.

With a surge in the cases of coronavirus infection in India, the country reported as many as 13,313 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday in the last 24 hours, as compared to the 12,249 cases on Wednesday, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Realty firm Supertech Ltd on Wednesday said it plans to raise about Rs 300 crore to expedite construction activities at its ongoing projects across the Delhi-NCR market.

Shares of food delivery firm Zomato rallied 4 per cent to Rs 68.60 on the BSE in Wednesday’s intra-day trade, thus gaining 5.5 per cent in the last two trading days, after the company said its board will meet on Friday, June 24, to consider a proposed acquisition.

The meeting of the board of directors of the company is scheduled on June 24 to consider a potential acquisition transaction by the company, the consideration for the same may be discharged through issuance of equity shares on preferential basis, Zomato said in an exchange filing on Tuesday after market hours.

Electric two-wheeler maker Okinawa Autotech on Wednesday said it will invest Rs 500 crore to set up a new manufacturing plant at Karoli in Rajasthan.

Spread across 30 acres of land, the factory will have an annual production capacity of 10 lakh units and will be fully operational from October 2023, Okinawa Autotech said in a statement.

Indian CEOs in FY22 got an average compensation of Rs 11.2 crore, with median compensation of Rs 7.4 crore, which is the highest in three years, the Economic Times reported.

According to the 2022 Deloitte India Executive Remuneration Survey, the average compensation of CEOs in FY21 was Rs 9.4 crore (Rs 6.4 crore median), while in FY20, it was Rs 9.8 crore (Rs 6.9 crore median), the report said.
