The white-collar jobs market showed signs of revival in June as the demand for talent rose by 5 per cent (compared to the last month) for the first time in the current fiscal, The Economic Times (ET) has reported. The uptick was led by a rise in hiring activity in non-tech sectors as economic indicators showed positive signs.

While the core sector showed positive sentiment, hiring in the country's IT services sector continued to be abysmal and fell to its lowest level since December 2020, the report said.

Restaurants in Haryana will be allowed to operate 24 hours a day, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said on Tuesday, PTI has reported. The news will make many restaurant owners happy as the decision is likely to give a significant boost to revenues and nightlife in metropolitan cities like Gurgaon and Chandigarh.

The decision was taken in a meeting of various departments chaired by Chautala.

Lens maker Carl Zeiss India will invest over 250 million euros in the country to build its largest "vision" factory in the world at Bengaluru, according to a report by Mint. The land for the facility was acquired two years ago, and its construction will start next month.

The construction is expected to be completed by October 2024.

India's HDFC Bank on Wednesday said its merged loan book with Housing Development Finance Corporation stood at about 22.45 trillion rupees ($273.77 billion) as at the end of the June quarter.

HDFC Bank merged with HDFC on July 1 in a $40 billion merger, the largest in India's corporate history, entering the coveted list of the world's top 10 banks by market capitalisation.

The opposition BJP in Karnataka will stage protests against the alleged delay in implementation of the five poll promises made by the ruling Congress in the run-up to the assembly elections.

Gold price fell Rs 110 in Tuesay's early trade, with 10 grams of the yellow metal (24-carat) trading at Rs 58,960, according to the GoodReturns website. Silver prices were also unchanged, with 1 kg of the precious metal selling at Rs 71,900.

The price of 22-carat gold also declined Rs 100 and the precious metal was trading at Rs 54,050.

Hinduja group firm IndusInd International Holdings Ltd (IIHL), the promoter of IndusInd Bank, announced on Monday its plans to raise $1.5 billion (about Rs. 12,300 crore) to increase its stake in the lender to 26 per cent from the current 15 per cent as well as fund its proposed acquisition of debt-laden Reliance Capital.
