Giving details of the alleged conspiracy, NIA said the accused had collected explosives from Mirzapur and other material from Patna to fabricate improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Ali, who allegedly also planted bombs at Bodh Gaya last year, had given up the idea of planting cylinder bombs as they were not that effective. After learning how to make bombs from "Inspire" magazine of banned terror group Al-Qaeda, they fabricated IEDs in pipe-elbow style, according to the charge sheet.

ICICI Bank plans to add more than 1.5 million accounts in FY15

ICICI Bank, in a move to take ahead its financial inclusion strategy, is planning to add another 1.5 million bank accounts in this financial year.

“We have around 18.5 million zero basic savings bank deposit accounts and by the end of this year, we expect to have close to 20 million such accounts,” said Rajiv Sabharwal, executive director, ICICI Bank, the country’s largest private sector lender.

Leading stock exchanges, BSE and NSE, will drop United Spirits Ltd (USL) from the future and option segment from September 19 as the company failed to comply with listing agreements, including timely submission of financial results.

In similarly-worded circulars, BSE and NSE said “United Spirits Ltd has not submitted financial results for the year ended March 31, 2014 and quarter ended June 30, 2014 as required under Clause 41 of the listing agreement.”

Maruti Suzuki on Friday said it would convert all contract workers at its factories in Gurgaon and Manesar to permanent or temporary staff over the next two years.

Policy changes and a provision for guaranteed returns must be put in place to boost infrastructure development, which requires large-scale funding, said Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Chairman A M Naik. Companies will invest only if there is an assurance of returns, he said in an interaction with reporters here on Friday.

Over the past few years, L&T has been looking abroad for orders. Naik said the company would consolidate its international business by replicating its domestic structure and systems and that it is hopeful of domestic projects coming on track with the new government approving coal mines and taking policy decisions to support investment.

Saying PACL Ltd ran a collective investment scheme, mobilising about Rs 50,000 crore, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has asked the company to refund investors and wind up operations.

This is the biggest crackdown on a large-scale illicit money-pooling scheme. At Rs 49,100 crore, the amount concerned is twice that collected by the Sahara group, which is said to have mobilised Rs 24,000 crore.
