Japan has agreed to modernise 400 railway stations across the country, while participating in Indian Railways' investment of $140 billion (approximately Rs 9.3 lakh crore ), over the next five years.

A Japanese delegation will soon visit India to study the opportunities for industries in the railway station development plan of railways as the public transporter has identified 400 stations to be upgraded in private investment, an official release said on Wednesday.

Reliance Industries has expressed its readiness to pump in more money to create an ecosystem to build high-value start-ups with an objective to put the country on the global map as a start-up and innovation hub at par with Israel and the Silicon Valley by 2022.

GenNext Innovation Hub, RIL's startup accelerator programme run in partnership with Microsoft Ventures, has inducted its second batch of 10 startups this week, which includes two Israeli companies, with a view to bring global exposure to the fledgling startup ecosystem in the country.

As part of its global expansion drive, two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp plans to set up manufacturing facilities in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil and expects to utilise the new Colombian plant as a hub to export to nearby countries.

“Going forward in terms of manufacturing facility, we are looking at some other countries in the region like Mexico, Argentina and Brazil,” Hero MotoCorp’s Chairman, Managing Director and CEO Pawan Munjal told PTI.

The capex of the company has doubled in the past five years. This should further strengthen shareholders confidence in the ability of team NTPC to achieve its ambitious targets, said Mr.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) will issue final recommendations by mid-October on compensation to be paid by the mobile operators to their customers on the issue of call drops.

TRAI Chairman RS Sharma said that the telecom regulatory body have floated a paper relating to compensation and have sought comments from operators after which there will be an open house discussion.
