Maruti Suzuki sales rise 12.2% in August

Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Thursday posted a 12.2 per cent rise in total sales in August at 1,32,211 units as against 1,17,864 units in the same month a year ago.

The company's domestic sales for the month stood at 1,19,931 units, up 12.3 per cent from 1,06,781 units in August 2015.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL)’s net profit for the April-June 2016 quarter rose 11 per cent to Rs 2,620.5 crore, year-on-year, even as the state-run firm’s total income from operations fell three per cent to Rs 57,016 crore from Rs 58,768 crore a year ago. Total expenses for the quarter under review also fell four per cent to Rs 53,528 crore from Rs 55,553 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Indian Oil Corp to continue importing two LNG cargoes a month

Indian Oil Corp (IOC) will continue importing at least two liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes a month after the expansion of the Dahej import terminal on India's west coast, a top company executive said.

Terminal operator Petronet, which is also India's biggest single LNG importer, expanded the Dahej plant's import capacity by 50 per cent to 15 million tonnes a year.

State-run telecom firm BSNL has completed installation of 2,199 mobile towers in naxal- affected regions across 10 states, as part of efforts to strengthen security mechanism to combat insurgency in those areas.

"We had time till December 2016 to complete the project but all the 2,199 solar powered mobile towers have been installed and they are operational. This project sets an example for excellent coordination between government and private agencies," BSNL Chairman and MD Anupam Shrivastava told PTI.

Shah panel to submit report on ONGC-RIL gas dispute today

A P Shah committee, which was looking into the dispute over transportation of natural gas from ONGCKG base’s blocks in KG basin to the neighbouring fields of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), is set to submit its final report on Wednesday.

“The report will be submitted to the concerned joint secretary (exploration), Amar Nath, by 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The ministry will examine the recommendations of the panel and will take a decision later,” said a petroleum ministry official.

To enhance commodity exchanges’ direct communications with traders, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has asked commexes to make efforts for subscribers’ registration for price dissemination services and disseminate derivatives prices to them on a daily basis, free of cost.

“Such direct price dissemination service would provide information to subscribers instantly in an efficient and transparent manner and, thus, shall be of great benefit to market participants,” said a Sebi circular.

India's largest real estate developer DLF on Tuesday said it has shortlisted bidders for the ongoing stake sale in its rental arm, DLF Cyber City Developers Ltd. The company expects to receive binding, updated bids in the form of shareholder agreement once the shortlisted bidders complete due diligence.

Media reports had earlier suggested DLF had shortlisted six potential buyers for the sale of 40 per cent stake held by promoters in its rental arm.
