Mumbai: Rajesh Gopinathan, the CEO of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), saw his remuneration rise to Rs 12.49 crore in 2017-18.

While Gopinathan received a total pay of Rs 6.22 crore in 2016-17, the numbers are not comparable as he assumed charge as the managing director and CEO of the country's largest IT services firm in February 2017.

Calcutta: Indian Railways will prioritise the loading of coal for supply to thermal power plants till June-end in a bid to address the fast depleting stock at the generating units.

At the request of the power ministry, the railways through a May 18 circular gave a higher priority to power plants, effective from May 19 till June 30, 2018.

Under this programme, the company will assist 400 tier-1 suppliers on global best practices for training workforce by 2020. MSIL has so far established 90 Dojo centres – state-of-the-art facility for learning – to help vendors achieve greater operational efficiency.

As oil prices rise, Moody’s Investors Service said state-owned oil producers ONGC and Oil India Ltd face increasing risk of the government once again requiring them to share the fuel subsidy burden. Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) and Oil India Ltd (OIL) had for more than 13 years paid as much as 40 per cent of the under-recoveries arising from fuel retailers selling petrol, diesel, cooking gas (LPG) and kerosene at a government-mandated price, which was way below the cost.

The country's largest lender SBI today said its services may be impacted on May 30-31 if the proposed strike by various bank employees' unions take place.

DLF, the country’s largest real estate developer, recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 2.48 billion in the fourth quarter of last fiscal year while profit stood at Rs 1.49 billion during the same period a year back. This year’s profit is a whopping rise of 66 per cent from the figure in the previous year.

Total income, however, fell to Rs 18.45 billion during the January-March quarter of last fiscal year from Rs 25.12 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Through a Larsen & Toubro (L&T) application, operational creditors to Bhushan Steel have got a window of hope at the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on their dues to the insolvent company.

The appellate body has agreed to hear the L&T petition on its Rs 9.62 billion of dues from Bhushan Steel. The case will be heard on Tuesday. Bhushan Steel was taken over by Tata Steel last week, after a protracted process under the insolvency law, involving some controversy.

An Air India plane from Goa with 143 passengers onboard made an emergency landing here after a hydraulic failure, a spokesperson fro the airline said.

A full emergency was declared at the airport at 8.36 PM as flight AI 662 made the emergency landing. "It landed safely with 143 passengers onboard," the spokesperson said.
