Top Indian airline IndiGo said on Thursday it signed a one-way codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways, letting the Middle Eastern airline get more access to the fast-growing Indian market.

The agreement will enable Qatar Airways to place its code on IndiGo flights between Doha and Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad, the companies said.

On Wednesday, a Panchkula Court granted bail to Honeypreet Insan, jailed Dera Chief Ram Rahim’s close aide and adopted daughter, who was accused of inciting violence in Panchkula in 2017. Earlier this month, the court had dropped the sedition charges against her and 35 other Dera members. Hoenypreet had then moved her bail plea on Wednesday morning and was granted bail.

Shares of MSTC zoomed 20 per cent to Rs 148 on the BSE on Thursday after the construction & engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) appointed the company as its selling agent.

In the past nine trading days, it soared 56 per cent, as compared to a four per cent rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. The stock has more than doubled from its recent low price of Rs 70, touched on August 14 in the intra-day deal.

Shares of Bajaj Electricals hit an over two-year low of Rs 338, down 4 per cent on the BSE on Thursday, after the company reported weak set of numbers for the quarter ended September 2019 (Q2FY20). The stock of house appliances company has slipped 12 per cent in the past two trading sessions, and was trading at its lowest level since August 30, 2017.

In the recently concluded quarter, Bajaj Electricals reported a net loss of Rs 32.55 crore against a net profit of Rs 29.83 crore logged in the year ago quarter.

Mukesh Ambani-promoted Reliance Industries (RIL) on Wednesday postponed bidding for gas it plans to produce from its R-cluster field in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin, said sources. This is the second time RIL has changed the bidding date; the new date is now November 15.

Sources in the company said bidders want more time to adapt to the new bidding system. Some added RIL may be facing lack of interest from potential bidders.

AirAsia India has appointed Vikas Agarwal, a Titan executive, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The appointment became essential as current CFO Deepak Mahendra decided against further extension.

Mahendra, who was appointed in February 2017 for a two-year period, had extended his term by five months.

Tata Steel reported a loss of Rs 6.54 crore before tax on a consolidated basis in the September quarter (Q2) against a profit of Rs 5,411 crore in the corresponding period last year, mainly due to a fall in realisations across geographies.

The loss is after exceptional expenses that include gain on non-current investments, restructuring and other provisions, totalling Rs 33.56 crore for Q2 versus a gain of Rs 163.77 crore in year ago quarter.

Flipkart has obtained a stay order on insolvency proceedings initiated against the e-commerce firm by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in a case involving alleged withholding of dues to a seller on its platform.

CloudWalker Streaming, a Mumbai-based supplier of LED TVs, has alleged the Flipkart did not honour its purchase agreement and had not paid dues totalling to Rs 26.95 crore. The firm moved NCLT and had petitioned that Flipkart be recommended for insolvency under Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).

Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) has rolled out voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) for its employees. The company hopes that about 100,000 employees will avail of the package.

The scheme opened on November 4 and will continue till December 3. The total number of BSNL employee is 175,000.

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Tsusho Group on Wednesday announced a joint venture for vehicle dismantling and recycling.

In the joint venture -- Maruti Suzuki Toyotsu India Pvt Ltd (MSTI) -- Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) will have 50 per cent share, while Toyota Tsusho Group companies -- Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Toyota Tsusho India Pvt Ltd -- will hold the remaining stake.
