Shares of Aurobindo Pharma surged 19 per cent to Rs 594 on the BSE in early morning deal on Wednesday after the company’s Unit IV received Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) with Voluntary Action Initiated (VAl) status from the US health regulator.
At 09:21 am, the stock was trading 13 per cent higher at Rs 563, as compared to 0.87 per cent rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. A combined 4.58 million shares changed hands on the counter in the first six minutes of trade on the NSE and BSE.

Vodafone Idea Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, MD and CEO Ravinder Takkar on Tuesday called on Telecom Secretary Anshu Prakash amid concerns of its very survival if the government invokes bank guarantee over no payment of adjusted gross revenue (AGR).
The company on Monday paid Rs 2,500 crore on account of its AGR dues and said that another Rs 1,000 crore will be paid by Friday. It is said that funds are being arranged to pay the remaining amount.

A day after Google announced that it is winding down its 'Station' program that provided free WiFi at more than 400 stations in India, RailTel on Tuesday clarified that it will continue to provide free internet services at more than 5,600 railway stations across India.
According to an official statement by RailTel, a Miniratna PSU under Ministry of Railways, Google provided the Radio Access Network (RAN) and Technology support while RailTel provided the physical infrastructure and internet bandwidth at 415 A1, A,C category stations only.

The engine of a Bengaluru-Ahmedabad GoAir flight caught a small fire at the time of takeoff, the airline said on Tuesday.
The fire, however, has been doused and all passengers and crew are safe and the plane is being towed off the runway after which the passengers will be deplaned, GoAir said in a statement.
The number of persons on board, however, could not be immediately known.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has called a meeting of top officers on Wednesday to discuss the implementation of ten guarantees including uninterrupted power supply, garbage-free Delhi and basic facilities for unauthorised colonies, sources said.
Issues like potable piped water supply, education for every child, free bus ride scheme for different sections of society, healthcare facilities, safety of women and cleaning of Yamuna are included in the agenda of the meeting scheduled to be held at noon on Wednesday, the sources said.

Political strategist Prashant Kishor is likely to get Z-category security in West Bengal, sources told Zee News on Monday. All formalities relating to Kishor having Z-category security have been completed, the sources elaborated, adding that the details of the Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and an official order will be issued soon.
The Z category security has a security cover of 22 personnel (including 4-5 NSG Commando and police personnel).

Shares of IndusInd Bank slipped 5 per cent to hit a fresh over three-year low of Rs 1,118 on the BSE on Friday despite the bank’s clarification that its exposure to the telecom company is standard.
The private sector lender's stock was trading at its lowest level since January 05, 2017. In the past eight trading days, IndusInd Bank's stock price has slipped 16 per cent, as compared to a 1 per cent decline in the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex.

The toll from China's coronavirus epidemic jumped to 1,868 on February 18 after 98 more people died, according to the National Health Commission.
Nearly 72,500 people nationwide have been infected by the new COVID-19 strain of the virus, which first emerged in December before spiralling into a nationwide epidemic.
There were 1,886 new cases reported Tuesday — a decline on Monday's figure, and the lowest single-day figure of new cases so far this month.

Media stocks such as Hathway Cable & Datacom Limited, TV18 Broadcast, DEN Networks were trading higher in the opening trade on BSE after the Mukesh Ambani’s owned RIL announced a consolidation of its media and distribution businesses spread across multiple entities into Network18. Hathway Cable & Datacom shares hit an upper circuit of 20% to Rs 23.10 apiece on BSE. Among other stocks, DEN Networks shares climbed 10 per cent to Rs 59.50, Network18 Media & Investments surged 4.89 per cent to Rs 30.05 and TV18 Broadcast shares jumped 19.68 per cent to Rs 30.10 apiece. While RIL shares were trading 0.72 per cent lower at 1467.80 apiece.
