In a tragic incident, two people died in the massive fire that broke out at the gas well of Oil India Ltd at Baghjan in Tinsukia district on Tuesday. Over 50 houses have been gutted in the massive fire.

As per reports, the deceased were the firefighters of Oil India who had gone missing after the well caught fire and their bodies were recovered on Wednesday morning. They have been identified as Durlov Gogoi and Tikeswar Gohain, assistant operators of the fire service department of the PSU.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday approved the Prevention of Cow slaughter (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 that provides a fine of up to Rs 5 lakh and imprisonment of a maximum of 10 years.
