Technology giant Microsoft India is the most 'attractive employer brand', followed by e-commerce major Amazon India, says a survey.

According to the findings of Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2018, the other most attractive employer brands in India include Hindustan Unilever, IBM India, ITC Group, Larsen & Toubro, Mercedes-Benz India, Samsung India, Sony India and Tata Consultancy Services.

To help enterprises secure their data and networks against growing cyber attacks, Microsoft has announced new intelligent security tools and technologies for Internet of Things (IoT) and edge devices.

The company introduced “Azure Sphere”, the industry’s first holistic platform to create secured, connected microcontroller unit (MCU) devices on the “intelligent edge”.

Microsoft has added a new track to its Professional Programme courses to help people working in the IT industry build skills in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The track is open to the public and is comprised of online courses. The applicants would use technologies like python, math, ethics, data analysis, Azure machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing and speech recognition to gain skills.

Microsoft has issued a new security patch to fix the earlier security update that was released in January to tackle “Meltdown” vulnerability found in microchips from Intel and other chip-makers. The flaw “CVE-2018-1038” was found in the first patch that was issued to protect Windows 7 x64 or Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 systems from the “Meltdown” vulnerability.

Giving a fresh impetus to his vision of achieving Intelligent Cloud and Edge, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has realigned duties of his core senior team, announcing that Terry Myerson, Head of Windows and Devices Group (WDG), was leaving the company. Myerson and the WDG team transformed Windows to create a secure, always up-to-date, modern operating system (OS).

Global tech major Microsoft fears an increase in regulation for the sector following the privacy issues that have engulfed Facebook, but said that tools like blockchain can help take care of concerns. “All the signals say that there will probably be more regulation in the industry and our job is to comply with the regulations,” its executive vice president for business development Peggy Johnson told PTI here in an interview.
