Singapore Airlines, Tata Consultancy Services introduce Mobile Solution for Cabin Crew

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) today introduced TCS CrewCollab Solution, a tablet-based mobile application for cabin crew to deliver more personalised customer service and to automate and streamline in-flight processes for cabin crew.

SIA is the launch customer for TCS CrewCollab Solution and its cabin crew are now using it on board. Crew can view information which traditionally has been in paper format, such as customer service lists, flight information and crew lists, digitally via tablets during flights.

Mumbai: After falling for four consecutive sessions, India’s benchmark Sensex rose over 350 points on Thursday, led by gains in shares of information technology and banking companies.

At 2.20pm, Bombay Stock Exchange’s 30-share Sensex was up 1.24%, or 358.52 points, at 29,241.62 points, while the National Stock Exchange’s broader 50-share Nifty was up 1.2%, or 101.50 points, at 8,825.20 points.

Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS), India’s biggest software services exporter, is relaunching the TCS graduate programme in Australia to create new tech job opportunities for Australian graduates.

Inductees in the 2015 batch have been selected from leading universities and will participate in a three-month training programme in Australia and India that started on 31 January.

Country's largest software exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said on Thursday it has been picked as the best IT service provider in Europe in terms of both customer satisfaction and performance, according to a survey.

The pan-European survey, conducted by Whitelane Research, polled 1,470 CEOs, CIOs, CFOs, COOs and CTOs from top IT spending European organisations controlling over 4,200 IT contracts across 13 countries. The survey evaluated performance and levels of satisfaction with 23 leading IT services companies operating in the continent.

Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday expressed confidence that Special Economic Zones (SEZ) of IT gaints Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys and one more company will be operational by 2017 in Indore. The SEZs of the three companies were notified in 2013.

"For SEZs of TCS, Infosys and Impetus, the state government has issued all no objection certificates. I had talks with representatives of the three companies and they have assured that their units will be operational by 2017," State Information Technology Minister Bhupendra Singh, told reporters.

The earnings of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for the quarter ended December last year met industry estimates but failed to impress analysts, unlike the earnings of its peer, Infosys.

TCS’ net profit and revenue narrowly missed the Bloomberg consensus estimates of Rs 5,493 crore and Rs 24,534 crore, respectively. The company paid 100 per cent variable pay, which might have hit its profit for the quarter.
