CPS was founded in Allentown, PA, in 1998 as a card service bureau for the rapidly growing card embossing and thermal printing market. In 2003 we expanded by opening a new facility in Addison, IL with new inkjet and Pick, Pack and Ship solutions for the retail market. Most recently, we’ve added mailing services for letters and carriers with cards out of our Allentown facility. Today, we produce almost 200 million cards per year and employ over fifty full time associates. CPS is totally focused on and committed to card based solutions. Card products are our only business. We service the prepaid, advertising, membership, and health care markets.

The Cardinal story began in April 1980 in Concord, N.C., a small town located just outside of Charlotte, N.C. It was then that Cardinal Freight Carriers, Inc. was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Carolina Freight Corporation to handle full truckloads for the company. In August 1995, Carolina Freight (a.k.a. Worldway, Inc.) along with the subsidiary division of Cardinal Freight and its common fleet of 14 tractors were purchased by Arkansas Best Corporation.
