Baxter Regional Medical Center (BRMC) is a not-for-profit acute care hospital serving a mostly rural region of the southern Ozark Mountains. Its service area covers fourteen counties in northern Arkansas and southern Missouri. The hospital has about 270 all-private rooms and provides general and advanced medical-surgical care in more than 30 medical specialties, including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, women's health, and physical rehabilitation. Founded in 1963, BRMC also runs several primary care and specialty clinics, a diagnostic imaging center, and a home health and hospice agency.

Bayfront Health System, operator of the coastal city's Bayfront Medical Center, a not-for-profit hospital housing some 500 acute care beds. Founded in 1906, the medical center provides general medical and surgical care, as well as emergency services, trauma care, and specialist care in areas such as rehabilitation, cancer treatment, and cardiology. The hospital also provides air-medical transport through its Bayflite helicopter program to a 15-county region. In addition to the medical center, Bayfront Health System includes several ancillary facilities, including urgent and primary care clinics and outpatient rehabilitation centers.

The Baylor Health Care System (BHCS) offers an array of health care services throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex (including to the Baylor Bears football team). Founded in 1981, it was governed by Baylor University until establishing autonomy in 1997. BHCS owns or operates some two dozen hospitals and medical centers, including the Baylor University Medical Center complex, one of the state's major teaching and referral facilities. Other offerings include rehabilitation facilities and primary care, senior health, and family health centers. The system also provides home health care and specialized pediatric services.
