Farmers Telecommunications Cooperative (FTC) is a rural local telephone service provider for about 17,000 subscribers in DeKalb and Jackson counties in northeast Alabama. It connects callers in the communities of Higdon, Ider, Henagar, Pisgah, Fyffe, and Geraldine, among others. The member-owned co-op provides traditional phone services including local exchange access and long-distance, as well as business and data systems and broadband Internet access. It also provides digital cable television. Cell phone service is offered by subsidiary Farmers Wireless. FTC was founded in 1952.
