Caraustar Recovered Fiber Group (RFG), a division of Caraustar Industries, provides recovered fiber for use as paperboard through its processing plants and recycling centers located across the US. Recovered paper is processed into paperboard, which in turn is converted into products such as tubes, cores, composite containers, cartons, and custom packaging. Through its own facilities and through brokerage operations, Caraustar RFG distributes over a million tons of paper stock annually. Caraustar Industries filed Chapter 11 in May 2009; it reorganized and emerged as a private company in August 2009, after eliminating approximately $135 million in debt.
