KC Hopps, Ltd. is a homegrown, handcrafted restaurant and brewpub management group that tapped its first kegs in 1993 in a cozy corner of Waldo. KC Hopps owns and operates multiple establishments in the greater Kansas City area that combine a great atmosphere, friendly service and scratch menus. This Keg is filled with prime rib and filet mignon. Keg Restaurants operates and franchises more than 95 Keg Steakhouse & Bar restaurants in Canada and the US. The upscale casual chain offers appetizers (escargot and Mushrooms Neptune are favorites), salads, ribs, seafood, and several varieties of steak. Almost half the Keg's restaurants are company-owned, while the rest are franchised. The company also sells its cocktails and sauces in Canada through such retail stores as Safeway and IGA. Keg Restaurants was founded in 1971 and is owned by CEO David Aisenstat. Publicly traded Keg Royalties Income Fund owns the chain's trademarks and other intellectual property, which it leases to Keg Restaurants.

Ker Inc. (doing business as Ker's WingHouse restaurants) sells more than chicken wings. The company's main attraction is its scantily-clad waitresses, who are known as "WingHouse Girls." The restaurant chain has about 20 locations, mostly in Florida, but two are in the Dallas, Texas, area. (Founder and President Crawford Ker spent six years with the Dallas Cowboys). Ker's WingHouse restaurants have a sports bar atmosphere and serve breaded, Buffalo-style, and skinless chicken wings, as well as hamburgers, sandwiches, and salads. The first Ker's WingHouse opened in Largo, Florida, in 1994.

The first Kerbey Lane Cafe opened on May 5, 1980 with the simple goal of having a cozy place to eat that offered healthy local food at a low price. At the time, this was a virtually competitive free restaurant concept. Austin’s cultural ideal of keeping it local by supporting area farmers, artists and businesses is as strong today as it was when Kerbey opened its doors. This cultural mantra is a large part of what shaped the environment of Kerbey Lane and continues to drive our efforts today.As expected, our cozy cafe seeping with local flair was exactly the kind of place Austin was looking for. With a successful restaurant, comprised of homemade furniture, family recipes and a staff of friends, we began to seek out expansion opportunities, which included longer hours and new locations. In 1986 the second location on South Lamar was opened with a diner inspired atmosphere. Our menu began to grow as the restaurant and community grew; now including more vegetarian items, salads and specials. Our preference for local and fresh ingredients actually shaped our menu, versus our menu dictating the ingredients we used. High quality, homegrown produce and meats are at the cornerstone of our success. Beginning in 2008 we began to sell our famous pancake mix at area HEB’s, Central Markets and Whole Foods. Kerbey Lane pancake mix is a Go Texan product, meaning it is produced locally by local employees. Brothers Larry and Dennis Kessler started the family-owned business with a single Burger King unit in 1975.
