Ice cream means cold cash for Braum's. W. H. Braum operates a chain of about 280 Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Stores in Oklahoma, Texas, and a handful of other states. Popular for its ice cream and other frozen treats, the chain also serves breakfast items, sandwiches, and salads. In addition, the stores sell grocery items such as milk, cheese, and other dairy products, along with baked goods. The family-owned company has more than 10,000 dairy cows and grows its own cattle feed. Family patriarch Henry Braum started the business in 1933, opening a chain of Peter Pan ice cream stores in Kansas during the 1950s. His son Bill later took over the business, sold the stores, and started his own retail chain in 1968. Bill Braum opened the first Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Store...but the Braum story actually begins long before that time, spanning three generations with over six decades of history behind it.

Wetzel's Pretzels (co-founded by Rick Wetzel) operates and franchises about 190 mall-based pretzel stands in more than 25 US states and five other countries (Canada, Lebanon, Mexico, the Philippines, and South Korea). The chain of snack outlets offers fresh-baked pretzels that are available in a variety of flavors, including garlic, cinnamon, and cheese. Wetzel's Pretzels was founded in 1994 and is owned by private equity firm Levine Leichtman Capital Partners.

Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group oversees a collection of about 20 upscale restaurants created by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, including his flagship portfolio of Spago locations in Beverly Hills, California; Las Vegas; and Maui, Hawaii. Its other restaurants include Chinois, CUT, Postrio, Trattoria del Lupo, and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. Chef Puck, who's food and dining empire is operated through Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, opened his first Spago restaurant in West Hollywood in 1982.

Yogurt Ventures USA, which does business as Freshëns Quality Brands, licenses and franchises a number of frozen treat and snack shop concepts, including Freshëns Energy Zone, Freshëns Smoöthies and Frozen Treats, and ZIA from Freshëns. The stores specialize in blended yogurt fruit smoothies and other frozen yogurt snacks, as well as frozen treats enhanced with vitamins and other energy supplements. Freshëns has more than 1,200 shops located nationwide in shopping malls, sports arenas, on college campuses, and in airports operated by such licensees as ARAMARK, Compass Group, and Sodexo. It also has on-site locations in hospitals and corporate cafeterias.
