About Mercedes Benz CLS Class
The CLS-Class has commonly been called one of the most beautifully crafted Mercedes-Benz cars ever. It has the look of a coupe, yet it has four doors. In terms of interior comfort, the CLS makes for a great four-passenger sedan.
Regarding the size, Mercedes CLS is an imitation of the E-Class sedan, but with more standard luxury equipments. The CLS has revamped its interior to possess an all new classic look and style. What distinguishes the CLS most readily from other Mercedes sedans is its four-seat cabin and elegant exterior styling. In 2007, the CLS-Class four-door "coupe" from Mercedes-Benz gets more power. The standard variants are the CLS 350 and the CLS 500. With the sleek coupe-like style and the convenience of four doors, the 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS has an eye catching presence in the global market.
The all new CLS-Class comes in two variants, CLS 350 and CLS 500. For 2007, the CLS line features extremely powerful engines. A 3.0-liter (L) V6 engine comes standard with the CLS 350 and a 5.0L V8 engine comes standard with the CLS 500. The newly developed 3.0L V6 churns out 272 horsepower (hp) and the 5.0L V8 eight-cylinder unit generates 306 hp. Both the engines are partnered by the new 7-speed automatic transmission, 7G-TRONIC, as standard. Mercedes claims that the CLS-Class is the world's first passenger car transmission of this type that contributes enormously to the car's strong acceleration and awesome fuel consumption. According to Mercedes, the CLS 350 six-cylinder Coupe climbs from 0 to 100 kilometers in 7.0 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 250 kilometers. The CLS-Class V8 Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers in 6.1 seconds. Both the engines possess a sporty 4-link suspension on the front and 4-link suspension on the rear. The front and rear suspensions are even more advanced with an integral support frame and anti-dive control system. The handling and braking is comfortable. For powerful breaks CLS offers Sensotronic Brake Controls with Brake Assist.
The Mercedes-Benz CLS has been marked as both coupe and sedan. It has the ambience of a Coupe and the practicality of a Sedan. This is one of the most striking five-passenger cars anywhere. The model distinguishes the sedan quality with four large, conventionally hinged side doors that allow unfettered access to both the front and rear seats. In the design lines CLS possess the emotionally charged characteristics of a Coupe. The front of the car pushes visually forward with the ever prominent Mercedes Benz grille slats. A deep bumper forms a coupe's characteristically muscular rear, braced by two chrome exhaust pipes. The CLS 500 model features AIRMATIC DC air suspension and THERMOTRONIC four-zone climate control that is capable to provide S-Class levels of comfort. The 2007 CLS-Class is roomier with more luggage capacity than its predecessors. An AIRMATIC DC air suspension comes standard with the CLS 500. The standard appointments in the Coupe include THERMATIC automatic climate control, a stereo radio, speed-sensitive power steering, and a leather-covered steering wheel. THERMOTRONIC luxury climate control is standard in CLS 500, but while operating it is a bit complicated. The CLS 350 offers 17-inch light-alloy wheels with 245/45 R 17 wide-base tyres and the CLS 500 has 18-inch light-alloy wheels with 245/40 R 18 wide-base tyres.
