Thales has been present in India since 1953 and has increased its activities there in recent years. In 2003, as part of its multi-domestic strategy, the Thales Group incorporated Thales India Pvt. Ltd as its Indian subsidiary. Thales India is an ISO 9001: 2000 Company which aims to imrpove the daily operability of Thales equipment for clients in India. It also aims to provide high quality services and solutions with quick reaction time for Indian clients and Thales Units. The Group is a long standing partner of the Indian Armed Forces and is active in the civic sector in both the aerospace and security markets. Thales India's activities include program management, installation, integration, commissioning, validation, warranty and maintenance support and training and logistics. In 2006, the Group set up Thales Software India Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai in order to build a sustainable software production center dedicated exclusively to Thales, with the ability to address the full life cycle of a software project. The goal of Thales Software India is to meet the growing market need for air traffic control software. The company is CMMI Level 3 certified.Thales India currently has 300 employees.
