NTPC Q2 net profit up 40% at Rs 2,898 cr

NTPC, the largest state-owned power generator, posted an increase of 40% in its profit during quarter ending September 2015.
The unaudited profit after tax (PAT) for the Q2 of FY 2015-16 was Rs 2,898.28 crore as compared to the Rs 2,071.63 crore during same period last fiscal.
The unaudited total income for the Q2 FY 2015-16 was Rs 18,173.90 crore as against the unaudited total income of Rs 17,267.32 crore in the Q2 FY 2014-15, registering an increase of about 5%.
NTPC currently has installed capacity of 45,548 Mw. The gross power generation for Q2 FY16 increased to 60.159 billion units from 55.448 billion units in the corresponding period of previous year, registering an increase of over 8%.
The company said, on half-year basis, the unaudited total income was Rs 35,497.20 crore for H1 FY 2015-16 as against Rs 36,136.63 crore during corresponding period in previous year.
For H1 FY 2015-16, unaudited PAT increased by18% to Rs 5,033.63 crore over the same period last fiscal.

India's largest port operator Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) is looking to expand its operations into the Philippines, with plans to invest in port development, according to a release issued by the office of the president of Philippines.
APSEZ Managing Director Karan Adani met with the Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr at Malacañang on May 2 in a courtesy call to discuss Adani Group's plans for the port.

India's markets regulator has sent notices of regulatory violations to seven companies of the Adani conglomerate, including its flagship Adani Enterprises, the group said in stock exchange filings.
The regulator began probing the Adani group, led by billionaire Gautam Adani, after Hindenburg Research in January 2023 alleged improper use of tax havens and stock manipulation by the group, accusations the group has denied.
